Never go for a try out in this academy they bully person the coach Aubrey Mpala was the coach that my sons have for a try out he discriminating one of my child he say he is chubby and hope never came again my son hear it . Also when he ask him what he have to do he doesn’t say anything . If I take my kids to school is To learn I’m the one who is going to pay .
We brought our girls to Juventus last fall as it was recommended by a friend of a friend who had an older daughter at the club. I am not able to speak to the club outside of what we experienced in the 2011 program. I was told there would be player rotation on the field, never happened. Our one daughter was a top striker from her previous region, and the coach stuck her back on defence the entire time we were there. Only once, for about five minutes did they give her a chance to play at the top. Our other daughter was never to play centre mid. I made a complaint about how there was no rotation and they finally gave in to letting her play at centre. Parents would text the coach during the game if they did not like what they saw. Parents, who had an in with the owner or the coach saw the most playing time. By the time we hit outdoor season, our girls had enough. I asked for some type of refund and they stated their policy was no. There was zero classroom time for game theory which was one of the main reasons we joined the club. Our practices were always combined with 2012 team, which a majority had little to no soccer skills. I would give the tryouts and practice a few before you commit.
Juventus has absolutely no idea how to develop young girls ages 8-12. They coach with a negative fear-based methodology, which doesn’t work well long term and doesn’t work for girls 8-12. The coach told the entire team they were “garbage”. No, not that they were playing like garbage, that THEY were garbage. Honestly, how does that help? The girls fear coming to practice, fear socializing, there is no community. The training isn’t anything special, they are not interested in making each player better. It’s just a cash grab, there is only 1 coach, no assistant coach. They will take your money, but if your daughter or team isn’t good in their opinion, they won’t even earn their money trying to train them. They will just go through the motions. Most parents aren’t even paying attention. Some of the parents thought taking their daughter here would make her a superstar, but it’s the opposite, they are so far over their heads they won’t learn a single thing. Most coaches have 2+ teams and are too busy, which results in too many canceled practices, or no supervision. Juventus needs to know we're paying for a service, and if they're not providing this service, it's a huge problem. Like other reviews said, there is favoritism on the field. Some girls on the team only get 10-15 minutes on the field (out of 80 minutes, some of these girls are good enough for a real shift). They are just there to pay the bills until someone better comes along. And some girls never leave the field and are then told their fitness is lacking (someone should tell the coach that they are 10 years old). Because children do not get fair time on the field, there isn’t a friendly atmosphere between the players or the parents. The organization, as a whole, is rude and aggressive. Despite the 1-star reviews, I took a chance on this club (because of a recommendation from a 15-year-old player) and it was a huge mistake. Juventus DOES have some very good teams at ages 13+, but this is because they cherry pick all of the top players (that were developed in a positive atmosphere) off of other teams to make a “super team”. Juventus is good at marketing. This academy turned my girl, who wanted to practice and play every day of the week, into someone who dreaded coming to practices and games. Nothing is worth this. Forget this place.
I watched a U12 boys game today in Barrie and was impressed with the lack of respect of these kids. This is far away from being a good environment for sports and social development, so toxic!!!!!!! One of these kids parents (a very big man with beard) said really bad words to Barrie kids. For sure this is the example they give to their kids. Good luck.
Organisation is 0 Coach Ricky junior is aggressive and has 0 patience to children and does not know how to control his emotions. Also he can’t keep promises. That way he kick out kids at age 6-8 without explanations. One of the coach (Daniele) does not speak English, very unprofessional (kids confused because they don’t know what he wants from them ) Our child was crying because when he start getting ready for todays training I had to tell him “ I am sorry but you want have soccer any more “ When he asked “why “ I had no explanation ( tell him they said you are not good enough) keep in mind people we start in October … and with all cancellations of practice and games we have been there not much …. Maybe you guys (juventus academy) will explain him….hmm???!!!!! It’s basically disrespectful to people who paying so much money ? and trust their children to your academy SHAME SHAME
Very disappointed with any form of communication with this academy. Whatever you do do not pay up front. Seems like everyone has their own financial deal with monthly and yearly payments. Not Fair. Can someone finally email me and let me know how I can get my money back. Ive already formed a compliment with Ontario soccer. Seems like Juventus is not even sanctioned. Some other club is. Please get back to me before I escalate even further
How do you assess a soccer academy . It starts from the top. Ricky runs a great business, thats a right a business . Not a soccer academy. Gionvinco also runs that business. Again a business. If you are into the name brand than its great. When your son Ricky Jr is running the coaching staff and doesn't not even have the proper license than you know you are running a business . Not a soccer academy. My daughter teams was a mess. Its tough when you favor some kids based on time at the club. Typical community soccer .
