Absolutely terrible service. Absolutely not customer-oriented. Absolute inability to plan a schedule. I have never met such an attitude for my own money. I don't have to choose a time when it's convenient for you. I pay for comfort and the opportunity to come when it's convenient for me, not when they allow. Zero solutions offered. You can't provide the basic minimum that the client pays for.
I would like to share my positive experience working with my YMCA trainer, Medina Elia. She is a highly dedicated and knowledgeable professional who has helped me significantly improve my muscle strength and overall body functionality. Medina is exceptionally kind, friendly, and humble, making every session enjoyable and motivating. Her ability to guide newcomers with patience and clear instruction is truly impressive. I highly recommend Medina to anyone who is new to the gym or looking for a supportive and effective personal trainer. She has made a meaningful difference in my fitness journey.
I’m gonna start this review off by warning anybody who is even remotely thinking of joining this gym. I joined at this YMCA location a couple of years ago, besides the fact that the front desk staff are extremely off putting and low energy, everything was fine. The past year, this gym has turned into an absolute disaster. #1 they NEED to enforce stricter hygiene standards specifically amongst MEMBERS OF THIS GYM. There are a select few of members who are continuously roaming around the gym & seem to be unwell and also are very very VISIBLY not practicing basic cleanliness. As respectful as can be, It is still extremely uncomfortable for members who are trying to work out. I speak for all us members at the YMCA that we would appreciate if management ensured that ALL members follow basic hygiene expectations so everyone can enjoy the space. This gym needs to do better. It’s like a disaster in there. Not to mention during the summertime there were over 10 kids running out the fitness centre like it was a zoo. Such a hazard. So unprofessional. This gym is a joke.
A great gym but not nearly enough cardio equipment. There are only two stairmasters and a handful of treadmills, which means that there’s a long wait to use equipment, especially since some people use the equipment for 45+ minutes
I would like to bring to your attention a concerning experience I had with the staff. I found them to be extremely unhelpful and dismissive regarding my safety. Despite reporting incidents of individuals following me—even to my home—my concerns were not taken seriously. However, the staff seemed more focused on enforcing rules about recording videos of myself while working out in the gym area. According to the regulations of YMCA Toronto, members are permitted to take pictures or record in public areas, excluding private spaces such as changing rooms and pools. I believe the priority should be on ensuring members’ safety rather than enforcing rules on harmless video recording. I strongly recommend that more attention be given to addressing inappropriate behavior from certain individuals at the gym rather than focusing on minor issues such as personal workout recordings. I stopped videoing myself and deleted the previous videos but then I started searching the regulation After me showing the regulation to the staff member she said I am not allowing you to take video and you broke the roles I won’t even allow you to step in to this building we will block your membership and throw you out threating me in front of other members with load voice! I kept telling her leave me alone you are following me from equipment to equipment yelling at me you don’t have the permission to make me feel uncomfortable! She kept staying at my head! I left there with frustration and shaking of anger.
Everything is good, BUT Why are the members working out in their outdoor shoes? During the winter the whole floor is covered with salt in the gym. Do smth with that. It’s messy
An amazing community space with something for everyone! The gym is well-equipped, the pool is clean, and there are plenty of classes and programs for all ages. The staff is welcoming and supportive, making it a great place to stay active and connect with others. Highly recommend!
