Normally my go to spot when wanting West Indian food, however when I couldn’t order from the Caribbean menu for 2 hours because they were preparing a catering order is an unacceptable reason on a weekend and expectation.
Why only 1 star you ask? Well get comfy and lemme tell you why... I was with my son in law just over a week ago, and had just paid for our meals. I was STUNNED by the rudeness of the owner when she tore out from the kitchen after hearing my Service Dog bark, yelling, "'THAT' can't be in here! You have to get out! You can't have THAT in here!" (Who is "THAT? Not MY dog...!!!) No inquiry first, no decent-human-being approach. I was immediately put off, but told her I have a "Service" Dog and "she" IS allowed to be there. The woman then tells me "it's NOT a service dog", that "service dogs have a harness that says so". I flipped the neck of my dog's sweater (it was below freezing outside) to reveal (to the aggressor's surprise) my dog's service harness. I was now fuming... telling her not to come at clientele like that, that it was unprofessional, rude and wrong. She said nothing and went to the back. We finished ordering and sat while we waited for our meals thinking it was over. It apparently wasn't. Would you believe this woman whips herself back out and heads full stride to our table talkin bout, "I called the health inspector, and if that was a real service dog you would have papers..." I yelled (I was over it by then), "I HAVE papers in the car. She started going on and on at this point about how so many people have fake documents. This became a yelling match at this point, me telling her my documents are REAL, and that I can even pull up the online emailed confirmation and certificate from the institute that issued it, and that she has absolutely ZERO manners and even less basic brain function to approach us the way she did. As I was pulling up said email she spun away again. A minute later the order was ready, so I asked the girl at the front to call her back out so I can show her the email she so badly wanted to see. The girl went to the back and came out saying, "she said she's busy". The absolute audacity and despicable behaviour of the owner of this establishment outweighs all else. Food and dining is an experience, and mine was ruined. The food was taken outside and dumped... we happily ate elsewhere. I can't say that your experience will be this way, especially if you go without a service pet, but there are far too many other established restaurants with good food run by KIND and FRIENDLY people who deserve patronage. No pros & cons list. No pics. Just my personal recommendation: Go ANYWHERE else.
This has to be the best roti and doubles I have ever tasted. The roti was so soft and fluffy. Doubles were beyond flavourful and just a true taste of home. Such amazing staff there and the curry shrimp and goat melts in your mouth. I highly recommend this place to everyone looking for an amazing meal!
Been here a couple of times for doubles. Great snack but only when i discovered how good their fried rice and dry pepper chicken wings are is what made me a regular. Better fried rice than alot of chinese/asian restaurants in the city. Wings 9/10.
I had the pleasure of ordering takeout from Drupatis Vaughan, and it was an amazing experience! Good better then island mix that’s for sure 2024 ***Edit*** this isn’t same anymore doubles taste too Indian not like coolie favours like it used to be A lot more other things but I’m not even worst my time Just stick my Fried rice and mixed veg
Guys they have cane juice!!! Since when It taste so good. I was shocked to see it here. Edit: Dec 9. They don't have cane juice by their original company. It's a different company now. The original one is by ~the azul~ bring em back!!
