We had a great experience. The atmosphere was ideal for a evening out. The service was attentive and prompt. The portions were just right. We will be coming back.
We picked this place because it said it’s a gastropub. Other than the misleading title (a pub with no beers on tap!), everything was perfect. As we sat down, they brought out some bread, cheese, and olives. Served with EVOO and high quality balsamic vinegar. We ordered pasta (butternut squash pasta) and pizza Margherita. Both were exceptional. They gave us a small serving of bruschetta while we waited. Service was friendly and everyone made an effort to make you feel at home. Two suggestions - either add a few beers to tap or rename yourselves. Also a few more vegetarian options, though what you did have was exceptional.
Met with friends for a lovely dinner, what impressed me the most is the small details and amazing service that made it a memorable night. Bread with cheese and olives and an amuse bouche was a nice surprise. I enjoyed the Frito Misto which was light and crispy, my main was a special whole sea bass and the key lime pie for dessert - all amazing! The plating, change of plates between courses and a relaxed atmosphere where you’re not timed or rushed out - everything was perfect from this little hidden gem. While the outside is deceiving as it’s dark and in a commercial strip mall, the experience was delightful. Will definitely return!
Wow! A hidden gem I must say. Food and service were unmatched. First we were greeted with bruschetta and a cheese/bread/olive platter. For apps we had the burrata and caesar salad — it was served directly on our plate… chefs kiss. Then for mains we had the surf & turf and paccheri gamberi — all I can say is WOW. Finally, for dessert we had crème brûlée and bread pudding.. a cherry on top to the meal. Overall, we had an amazing dinner — great experience, definitely will be back! Staff was amazing!
11 out of 10 experience. Food was excellent and the service was top notch. Their Blood Orange Gin was spectacular. The staff treat their customers like family. Smoke & Mirrors will be a a regular stop for me when I'm in town!
Absolutely amazing food and perfect service. I've got grilled octopus and lamb chops - not gonna lie that was the best octopus I've ever ate and surely the best lamb in Toronto. I totally love the place and definitely will come back.
Wow!!! Do not judge a book by its cover! Do not walk, but run to Smoke and Mirrors for your next dinning experience! The service is amazing, Victoria and Nick are the best! The chef, Ricky, came out and he was so humble! But served up amazing and tasteful food. What to say, drinks…on point and served with flare (depending on which one you order), food….quality, amazing and above expectations! Great small place, hidden gem so please do not tell friends or family, because I do not want to have to struggle to get seating on a Fri/Sat! But jokes aside, you have to try Smoke and Mirrors at least once to understand what I am saying, once and you are hooked!!
