I really enjoyed this Persian bakery! The Sangak and other breads were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from a good Persian bakery. They also have Ash and Haleem, most of which we found delicious. Everything felt authentic and made with care. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality Persian breads and traditional dishes, and I’ll definitely be stopping by again next time I’m in Toronto.
I bought Haleem today at 7:45. It was completely cold. I doubt it was cooked today. So I had to reheat it. Usually Haleem is served with sesame, sugar and cinnamon, but this Haleem only had cinnamon. Anyway, it was not a good experience at all and I will definitely not buy Haleem from here next time.
The cake Yazdi that I bought from this bakery was baked at least two days ago. Non of Canadian bakeries are selling their pastries left each day on the next day. It’s not ethical to do so. Not recommended to buy cake Yazdi from this store.
We’re regulars at Salmat Bakery and couldn’t be happier with the quality of their products and service. Though it’s a small shop, it has everything you need for your Persian staples—nuts, tea, cheese, distilled waters, and of course, their delicious, fresh baked bread! Our family’s favourite is the barbari, and we also love grabbing some halim, which makes for a great breakfast. I’ve also ordered their yazdi cakes, and they were just as tasty! Overall, I absolutely love this business, and it’s definitely worth a visit.
I usually come here for quick grabs for groccery and fresh bread. Its really close to me and there is free parking. The owner is the coolest person and is really friendly. He usually offers us fresh treats when we visit. The store is not really spacious, however they have almost anything you might need for a quick grab from fresh bread to eggs and diary. The best thing here, is they have an old school stove oven and bake fresh bread and bakery items. Their cup cakes, aka, Cake Yazdi, is the best. I always get one when I visit. They offer fresh bread which is usually baked the same day. They also have most of persian items you might need. There is always nice persian music playing in the background which brings up a cool and authentic vibe to the store. The parking is free as its located within the plaza. Overall, I favor this local persian store as its close and the owner is super cool.
You cannot find any bread with a better quality in the whole town! Barbary, sangag, Gata bread are awesome. They also have a traditional cookie from north of Iran, well baked and fresh! (Kolooche foomani) which you must try! Just don’t forget to order prior to your arrival
Quality is okay but relative to price is not worth it. Got a pack of lavash and one sangak which cost $9 together (which probably cost them less than $3 altogether with material, labour, hydro etc.) **Replying to store’s response: this exactly proves my and most other comments. Instead of responding to the over-priced issue, he/she is giving nonsense responses.
