Our experience at Humber Valley Imaging in Vaughan was shockingly bad. I’ve never seen a medical facility handle something as emotional and significant as a pregnancy ultrasound with such coldness, disrespect, and complete lack of basic humanity. My pregnant wife was treated with an attitude that can only be described as rude, dismissive, and utterly unprofessional. There was no warmth, no compassion, and no effort whatsoever to make her feel comfortable. It genuinely felt like the staff couldn’t care less about the patients in front of them. The moment we found out our baby has a heartbeat should have been beautiful and unforgettable. Instead, they turned it into a miserable experience. Their behaviour sucked the joy out of what should have been one of the happiest moments of our lives. And let’s be clear — they are not doing us some heroic favour. These are paid employees working through OHIP, funded by our hard-earned tax dollars, yet they act like basic courtesy is optional. It was infuriating to see such entitlement and apathy from people working in a field that demands compassion. In my opinion, this clinic has absolutely no business handling pregnancy ultrasounds if they cannot show the slightest empathy to expecting parents. If you care about how you or your spouse are treated, I strongly recommend going anywhere else.
Super rude staff employees like this belong in a correctional facility, not an imaging center. I had one of the worst experiences today. I was sitting in the waiting room and, yes, I used my phone without noticing the sign. Instead of simply telling me politely, the receptionist shouted at me and said, “Can’t you see the sign remove your phone?” which I genuinely hadn’t seen. Inside the room, the technician was extremely rude to my wife. She asked her if she had used the bathroom, and when my wife said yes, she just asked why is the bladder showing full or something? Then the technician sarcastically replied, “You said you used the bathroom, no? It’s either empty empty or full full.” My wife is pregnant and already anxious she didn’t deserve to be spoken to that way. When I asked if everything was okay with the baby, the technician’s attitude was again harsh and dismissive. Completely unacceptable behavior. Shame on management for allowing this kind of treatment. We will never return.
Fast and efficient ultrasound and xray. Elana, Zelina. Lucy and Sara were great. Thanks for taking care of my tests. Greatly appreciated. Highly recommended.
I have been to this centre for ultrasounds quite of times throughout my pregnancy as my pregnancy is a high-risk. Overall, the centre itself is clean and the waiting time has usually been short, which made visits relatively convenient. During my visits, I had the chance to meet two different ultrasound technicians. One of them, who usually calls patients from the right-side door into the darker ultrasound room, has always been wonderful. She is calm, sweet, and genuinely kind, and she makes an effort to capture the best ultrasound pictures to print for me. Every experience with her has been positive, and I always left feeling cared for and reassured. Unfortunately, my experiences with the other technician—the one who calls patients from the left-side door into the very brightly lit room—have been consistently disappointing. Except for my very early pregnancy ultrasounds which I needed to drink 2L of water each time, I was never given clear instructions from the receptionist when making an appointment about how much water to drink or whether I should eat beforehand. Still, I always had about a cup of water in me and avoiding the washroom for an hour before each appointment. Despite this, this technician repeatedly scolded me in a very harsh, almost hysterical way, insisting that my bladder was “completely empty” and often telling me that I would need a transvaginal ultrasound because she “can’t see anything”. In reality, I never once actually needed one. Each time, she still completed the scan successfully and saw everything she needed, which made her constant warnings feel unnecessary and stressful. The pictures given are always showing basically nothing but a black background with bright something in the middle. What bothered me the most was how uncomfortable she made me feel with the way she asked me to undress. She would repeatedly tell me to pull my underwear so far down it was nearly off, and to raise my top so high that it exposed much more than was necessary—even to the point where it felt inappropriate. No other technician I’ve ever met during my pregnancy (Including all other centres I’ve been to) has ever required that. On top of that, she would pour an excessive amount of gel on my whole upper body, hand me only small pieces of tissue to clean up, and then rush me to leave the room while I was still messy and uncomfortable. Every time I saw her, I ended up leaving with my underwear and clothes soaked in gel. It gave me the impression that she doesn’t want to scan pregnants, and unfortunately, that energy came across very strongly in how she treated patients. This was especially disappointing during such an important and emotional time in pregnancy. I truly hope the centre can address this, because while some staff here provide excellent care, this inconsistency leaves patients feeling anxious instead of supported.
Very messy management in front desk. Was told no appointment needed. Just walked in before the beginning time the lady told. She said physician delayed. Push me spend 1 hour in Walmart and wait. When I come back told me to wait another hour. Few people in the room also complained about too long waiting and suspect they messing up clients order. Some come late, but serve early... (not sure whether people were pushed outside because too long waiting without appointment set. In general, not a good service should have in the neighborhood.
I have been to this clinic twice now and have been very pleased with the positive atmosphere, the friendly and professional staff and the cleanliness of the office. The equipment is state of the art. The staff are efficient, attentive and work as a team. There is free parking outside the building. I highly recommend Humber Valley Imaging to my friends and family.
I made an appointment at Humber Valley PDS Diagnostic Imaging (2 Champagne Dr., North York) 3 weeks prior my visit to be able to do a test first in the morning. The technician was late for half an hour and then the machine didn't start. I was advised that the receptionist would call me to reschedule my appointment, but nobody called.
