Terrible place only about one good nail tech in there. Did an awful repair on my nail and blamed it on the way my finger looks as if my finger is the reason it’s poorly applied. I’d understand the attitude if I was trying to get it fixed for freee but the attitude I received while simply asking her to do her job is insane. I asked her to fix it and she blamed it on my finger. I time after time make the mistake of giving this place another shot because it’s so close
Me and my daughter got pedicures done. My daughter who is 17 her pedicure was done within minutes. More like they applied polish. The water for my pedicure was super cold. I had to ask thrice to get it room temperature. My toes have dents and smudges in the polish. I am not happy with this service atall. I hate arguing so paid whatever I had to and left. I cancelled my acrylic appointments for next week. I’ll go elsewhere. This place used to be Rebel before and then Okila. My experience there was good but today they lost a loyal customer. I’ll never go here again.
I never leave reviews. However I am so incredibly disappointed with this salon, I wanted to share my experience to caution others considering it for their nails. I have been a long time client of both nail salons that were here before Monica nails. (Okila, and rebel nails). Absolutely loved them and the staff. However when the new owner Monica came, she got all new staff, and either made up a story about why the old staff weren’t there anymore, or oddly refused to acknowledge another nail salon ever being in the plaza. I had booked with Vivian for a shellac pedicure and acrylic new set after seeing such glowing reviews about her. However, I was late to be seen even though I booked an appointment, which is obviously unprofessional, and they told me someone else had to do my pedicure because Vivian was working on other people. Again… I had an appointment with her specifically. Honestly though, that probably worked out for better as you will read below. I had Diana for the pedicure. Aside from it being a bit sloppy around the edges, it overall isn’t bad. Not great, but not bad. My finger nails, however, are horrible. I asked for a new set, Vivian said okay, then proceeded to do just a fill instead. I thought it was way too long after having gotten my nails done for that but she did it anyways. Not only did she rush, she was aggressive, insanely sloppy, and also very unclean. She painted dirt and dust into my nails which was obviously there while she was doing them (which I also pointed out to her), there are dried nail clumps cured into them (which I also told her about and she simply filed them a bit and told me I’m good to go… btw they are still there and I can’t still feel them when touching my nails…), there is at least 1 air bubble in every single nail, though some have 2 somehow… and worst of all, she cured a HAIR into one of my nails… with me being in a rush, worried I’d be late for work since they didn’t take me on time for my scheduled appointment, I hadn’t realized how horrible the nails were until closer inspection later in the day. When given the time to inspect them further, I realized that every single nail was bumpy, with one side being thicker / bulkier than the other making my nails look tilted, there is nail polish all over my cuticles, and the lengths of the nails do not match each other. I don’t have to even look at them very much to notice that. It is quite obvious. I’m not done yet… When it came time to pay, I honestly think most people wouldn’t have tipped for the job that was done. But me also being in the service industry, I wanted to tip a little bit. Sure, it wasn’t a ton and less than I typically would tip, but it is honestly more than the job deserved. However, when I did leave a tip with the owner who was cashing me out, she was visibly annoyed with me, scoffing and then yelled the amount that I tipped across the nail salon while rolling her eyes. INSANELY unprofessional. AND, possibly the most annoying of all this is that, 3 days later, one of my nails fully broke. Not just a little but either. Half the acrylic part came off. I did absolutely nothing to make this happen either. No pressure put on it or anything. What a waste of time and money. I’m sure more will brake in the next few days too. I have no idea how Vivian got all these amazing reviews. Maybe she just had a bad day when I went? Idk but if I wasn’t in another country right now, I’d go back asking for them to fix my nails… I hope the owner sees this review not as an attack but as feedback on where growth and change is needed, and will hopefully reach out and do the right thing. P.S. they just changed to Monica nails somewhat recently. I got my nails done from this place about a month ago when it was still okila. They are using the same website info and everything, it is just now a new owner. So most of these reviews, not including the most recent ones, are associated with Okila.
Amazing service, ,clean environment, friendly staff.Anna the nail specialist is wonderful .I really enjoyed the massage she gave me during my mani pedi.
They over book appointment times and take all walkins...even with an appointment you will wait 30 min to an hour. Asked for shellac Mani and was charged for it but they just used regular polish even after I repeatedly told the estitician what I wanted. Very disappointed with my experience. This place has changed for the worse since new management took over.
The salon staff was very friendly and the vibe in the building was calm and welcoming. Jennifer did my shellac manicure and she was awesome! Although she did get up a few times during my appointment to answer phone calls and tend to the front desk :/ Overall, will definitely come back here!
This is my second time at this nail salon and I am very pleased with the service. Jennifer was quick and the nails look clean. It is also decently priced.
