I needed to replace half of my sliding door as the glass was broken on one side. They explained to me why they couldn’t just fix the broken side, which totally made sense. Very professional and quickly done. I definitely recommend Reliable Windows and Doors
My project was simple, replace six faux windows (thin double pane windows with a black background that back onto the plywood of the house shell) on the front of my house last July 2022. After their assessment and quote, we proceeded with changing the windows. After many visits and many issues with wrong size replacement windows, leaving the window opening with no window for weeks, windows cracking during installation, wrong number of internal dividers and windows breaking during transit, what I thought were the final windows, were installed in February 2023 and they were paid in full. A month later in April 2023 when we had a warm spell of about 20C weather, I noticed a few of the windows had cracks in them. After numerous calls and text messages I finally got their technical lead out to have a look. What I thought were two cracked windows, turned out to be all four of the windows at the top of my house were cracked. They were trying to blame the PVC frame that holds the windows in place, saying it wasn’t strong enough or was crooked. I’m not sure I buy that explanation as the original windows (very similar to what they put in but original was a single piece of glass with a cavity and then a back piece that was a black panel) were there for 10 years never cracked. It almost sounds like their replacement windows were a bit too big and when installed at -8C, were under pressure in the frame and when it got to 20C, the thermal expansion put more pressure on the windows and hence the cracks. Now eleven months later and after numerous windows (12 and counting), the project is still not complete. It is really frustrating dealing with this company as phone calls and text messages go unanswered for days, sometime even weeks and sometimes they don’t even return my call. When they say someone from my office will call and setup an appointment, you won’t hear from them for weeks until you call them. To make matters worse they posted pictures of my house with the windows without permission, and they included my wife’s car in the picture showing her license plate. As a business owner myself, we always ask for permission from a client before we post anything about a project, and we definitely don’t include any personal information. In summary, not a very professional organization, don’t stand behind their products and god help you if you have an issue with their products.
Made an appointment. Tech apparently came to the business but didn't come in. They called and was told I was not there so he left. Made another appointment for another day late for a two hour window. Was not called and finally they did not show up at all. No calls from anyone in relation to this. And four days later not even a follow up as to why they did not show up.
After spending months looked at a ripped screen in my son’s bedroom in fear of an expensive solution, I finally decided to deal with the problem today. I used Reliable Windows & Doors (Reliable) and these are the reasons I was very happy: - When I called Reliable, there was a person, not a machine, who answered the phone. He was able to give me information and upon sending him some details he was able to give me an estimate of the costs. - He booked someone for the same day. - I was given a reasonable window of time the technician would come, a 1.5 hour window. - The technician gave me a 15 minute heads up prior to arriving, he was not only on time, but at the early portion of the time given. - My technician was Guilherme (G). He did an outstanding job. - He knew what he was doing and gave the job, which consisted of replacing the screen on a window and a screen on a patio door, the right amount of time to work with care and professionalism but he was also efficient and quick. - He was happy to patiently take my questions and give me guidance on the proper care of my windows and screens. - He was respectful of the tidiness my home and treated everything around him with care. - I am not sure how a company can both have their technicians be on time and also have them give a job all the time it needed. It was really appreciated. The prices were fair and reasonable. The service was outstanding. I am very happy to enthusiastically recommend Reliable Windows & Doors!
Shalom did a superb job of installing a screen on my patio door. He was efficient and professional. The job took 20 minutes. The cost was $316. I was given a quote, over the phone, for $150-200. I was told that the screen must not have been a standard size. Shalom brought a roll of screening and cut what he needed to fit the space! I will not be recommending this company to family, friends or neighbours.
We need some minor window repairs. This company responded very quickly to our quote request. They scheduled a two-hour window during which a technician was supposed to show up to evaluate the problem. They did not show up, and they did not call in advance to reschedule.
