OPEN… supposedly. Lights on, sign says open, online hours say open. Reality: a random A4 paper saying “we’ll open at noon.” I waited over 15 minutes outside for a so-called professional franchise that couldn’t be bothered to update its hours. Don’t trust the posted hours. Call first.
Five stars for Selim, the Sultan of Sauce. Listen. I don’t know what kind of dark culinary arts Selim is practicing back there behind the counter at Smoke’s Poutinerie Vaughan, but the man whispers to the gravy and it listens. The fries come out hot, the curds come out squeaky, and Selim? He comes out glistening in a cloud of steam like some kind of deep-fried demigod. This man doesn’t just serve poutine—he seduces it. I watched him stir the gravy like it owed him money. I swear at one point, he winked at the cheese curds. And they melted. On the spot. The whole place felt... different when Selim was working. Dangerous. Slightly moist. I felt like I was part of something illegal but delicious. He handed me my loaded poutine like it was a love letter written in bacon bits. I looked into his eyes for a second too long and forgot where I parked. It’s just respectfully unhinged admiration for a man who clearly puts more passion into poutine than most people put into their marriages. Selim, you weird, wonderful gravy sorcerer—never stop.
One star for service cuz the lady was doing all the work the guy is just standing there while the frys are cooking he could help take orders not just stare at the amount of people who are waiting 10/10 for the lady keep up the good work ❤️
Came here at 7.40pm to order but the girl said they have many order, she can't take any more orders as she is alone. And she ignored us. Surprised and left.
Bad Attitude, No Hair Nets and Extremely stingy with the cheese and toppings. Not worth the price or wait. Other locations are far superior though so don’t give up on the brand.
I came here later in the evening with a few friends from work. The menu here is impressive, however the prices at the store are not the same as they say on Google Maps. For example, in my case I wanted the Korean BBQ. On Google Maps it says it is $10.49, but at the place itself it is $14.99. Now I am not one to start arguments so I just sucked it up. Also worth noting that I had to wait quite a few minutes before taking my order despite there being nobody in front of me. When I got my food it was really good, a balance of sweet and spicy. This place might be better for delivery than take-out.
For a $15 poutine, they're really stingy on the cheese and gravy. Like it would've been nice to have at least enough gravy to melt what little cheese was on top. Unacceptable!
