Called to make sure the clinic was opened. Nobody picked up. Had already driven to 2 other clinics which said on Google Maps they were open but when I arrived both were closed. They returned my call, right after the clinic actually closed for the day.
Never been to a more racist medical facility where if you are not a certain colour and nationality, you would be bumped down in line and wait for hours. Every hour the amount of patients in front of you in line would increase instead of decrease. When confronted, the receptionist would state that these patients were simply waiting in the car for their turn. Horrendous clinic where you would just rather go to the emergency across the street for faster and proper medical treatment. Avoid at all costs.
Do not follow the opening hours from their website, it is wrong for Saturday anyways. We came on 9:00 as their official website stated they opens on 9:00 on Saturday and luckily bumped into one of their employees who told us that they actually open on 11:00 on Saturday. With a sick kid in the vehicle, we spent double of our time on the road for driving.
Came here for walk-in and Dr. Wang was great! The secretary was kind and answered the phone promptly, and we were able to have our baby seen quickly. Dr. Wang was attentive, thorough and had great bedside manners. Highly recommend for walk-in or if you need a pediatrician. Will definitely come back!
I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel I need to share my experience. Unfortunately, about 98% of my son’s appointments at this clinic are canceled at the very last minute. The last time, we were already on our way there when we received the call informing us the appointment was canceled. We plan our day carefully, take time off work, and arrange all the logistics to make it to the clinic , only to have it canceled with no alternative solution offered. I even requested a call with the doctor instead, but that never happened, and no one answers the phone when we try to follow up. This is very frustrating for parents who do everything to ensure their child’s health. I really hope they improve their scheduling and communication with patients.
Dr. Gunawardena was assigned as my baby’s paediatrician at the hospital and at first she seemed very caring, but I quickly realized she is completely overwhelmed and unable to manage her patients even thought she is still accepting new patients. Every single visit has meant waiting 3–4 hours, even with a scheduled appointment. Most of the time my son didn’t even see her, just one of the many other doctors she hires we’ve been to her clinics expecting to see her and asked to see her and have seen her only 3 out of the 10 times we’ve been. When requesting an appointment to see Dr G we have always been told it’s 2 months waiting time so i had to see other Drs in her clinic i had no choice!!! She missed his six-month vaccine visit and nine-month checkup altogether which are big checkups i would except my sons actually paediatrician to perform. Both of her clinics are horribly overcrowded and mismanaged. At my sons 9 month appointment there were over 15 people (parents kids and babies) that crammed into waiting room made for 8 max, with kids in wheelchairs left in the hallway because there was no space. The male receptionist told me to “go to Costco for an hour” because there were no seats? they didn’t call me back until three and a half hours later shocked that i wouldn’t come back to the appointment but not offering to reschedule to anything like that, the male receptionist at north richmondhill clinic is very very rude and overworked and just such a negative mood always it’s so sad. Was he expecting me to “go to costco” and wait there for 3 hours with a BABY who has a scheduled time to eat sleep etc… Another time they tried to have an “assistant” (he was not a nurse not a doctor not an allergist, i asked ) perform an allergy test on my 7 month old baby after we had waited two hours in the waiting room for an already scheduled appointment i had to wait 3 months but i felt very uncomfortable and unsafe for my baby and left. At a different allergy clinic that i found independently, I was told only an allergist or allergist nurse can do this, which confirmed how unsafe that situation really was. I have since transferred my son to another pediatrician who is attentive, organized, and respectful of families’ time. The difference has been night and day. Even the best Doctors in the world see their patients within a reasonable timeframe and don’t just pass off their patients to other doctors they hire the way Dr Gunawardena does. Dr. Gunawardena may mean well she seems very caring and lovely at first, but her clinics are chaotic, overcrowded, unsafe, and poorly managed, and I cannot recommend them to any parent. She can’t take proper care of her patients very disappointed. This is not how babies and parents should be treated.
I came to this clinic in the early morning 9:03 because I called their north Richmond Hill kids clinic the day before and was told to come by 9 o’clock, we live in Markham, I have to bring my 6 yrs son without any breakfast and leave before 8:20, there are 22months twins at home waiting me to take care. Now is 9:39 am we had been waiting here for 40 mins, clinic is still closing no one is here. I called them, a lady told me doctor will come at 10! Then she just hang up the phone when I am talking to her! No apologies No explanations! What’s your problem?
